This is about my life as a leukemia and bone marrow transplant
survivor.
It is about my personal experience
and cancer activism.
In September of 1993, I had a very successful bone marrow transplant at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I owe my life to my brother John, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and the doctors and staff of Group Health Cooperative. I am very grateful to Dr. Don Thomas whose research made my treatment possible. Of course, I must not forget my dear wife and caregiver. Carol is my love of 46+ years (Met May 1962; married May 11, 1963) and the mother of our four children. No words can express how important she is to my life and recovery.
