The Max Foundation is dedicated to the memory of Maximiliano M. Rivarola. Max was born in Argentina on October 19, 1973. At the age of 14 he was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML). He was brought to Houston, TX where he received treatment at the M. D. Anderson Cancer Research Center. Despite a vast worldwide search for a bone marrow, a match was never found. Max underwent an autologus transplant in January of 1991. The transplant was unsuccessful and he died at the age of 17 on March 9, 1991. He fought this most difficult battle with outstanding courage and his strength was never undermined. We pledge to live our lives to honor his fight.
