DX: acute lymphocytic leukemia
| My son died November 2 after a ten and one half year battle with cancer.
He underwent a bone marrow transplant in October. Michael Todd Washburn went home to
be with the Lord at 10:30pm on November 2, 1998 after battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
for more than 10 years. His last hours were very peaceful. He was very much aware of all that was going on. Many of his friends and family were able to be there and talk to him that evening. When he finally took his last breath here he had a smile on his face and even a glow about him. The doctor in intensive care said he had never seen anything like it. There were about 40 people in his room at the time of his passing. Michael had begun his senior year at Milford Christian Academy in the fall. His pastor who was also present at the time of his death stated that in pastoring for some 35 years and standing at the bedside of many as they departed this life he had never witnessed anything to equal this experience. Michael's funeral service was a celebration of his life and testimony. The pastor included this text under his picture: "looking steadfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel." Acts 6:15. Michael was an angel to me and I will miss him till we are reunited. In Loving Memory Mom |
